Welcome!Welcome to my online teaching portfolio! My name is Christy Aymami, and I am an educator in the New Orleans Metro area. I am currently teaching in St. Charles Parish Public Schools in Boutte, Louisiana, but have experience in both public and private school environments.
Right before Hurricane Katrina, in May of 2005, I received a bachelor of science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. I started my teaching career in the fall of 2006. In 2008, I received my post-baccalaureate teaching certificate as part of the TeachGNO program at the University of New Orleans. The program was a fast-track program which allowed students interested in a teaching certificate to teach under a Practitioner's License until the program requirements had been fulfilled. I am certified to teach Biology and General Science for 7th-12th grades, with an intention to take my PLT for Middle School Grades (4th-8th) in the fall of 2014. In June 2014, I will begin a Master of Education degree at Northwestern Louisiana State University, with a concentration in Educational Technology Leadership. In my free time, I am an active member of several professional development circles to improve both my skills in geology, physical science, biological science and environmental science, as well as incorporating technology into education. I am a current member of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), the International Reading Association (IRA) and the Information and Communication Technology in Education (ICTE) In the sections that follow, you'll find specific details about my beliefs and achievements in education. This includes my resume, philosophy of education, and artifacts from various aspects of my teaching experience. Please feel free to contact me in regards to any information on my profile. Thank you for your time and interest! |
